The Cameroon Grand Cultural Symposium was held on June 7, 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. In attendance were the Honorary Consul of Cameroon in Denmark H. E. Axel Juhl-Jorgensen, the Dean of African Embassies in Denmark, representatives from Embassies of Burkina Faso, Libya, Benin, Ghana, South Africa and Uganda, the President of Cameroonian Association in Denmark and other dignitaries.
The event was to commemorate the reunification of Cameroon and decoration of H.E. Axel Juhl-Jorgensen. The welcome address was given by Cameroon Honorary Consul in Denmark H. E. Axel Juhl-Jorgensen. The audience was also addressed by the President of Cameroonian Association in Denmark (ACAD) and the Dean of African Embassies in Denmark.
Presentations on Cameroon’s Economic Potential and tourism were delivered by Associate Professor, Dr. Lekunze Ransom Nambuanyi. Mr. Nicholaj Asger Hansen, the Group CEO of Living Energy International, a Danish renewable energy company headquartered in Denmark presented the cost-effective solar and green energy solutions they provide in Cameroon. Gifts of various distinctions and prizes were presented to deserving invited guests.
The symposium witnessed a lot of cultural exchange, cultural dance from Manyu cultural group, entertainment, food and drinks and the opportunity to learn more about Cameroon.
Mr. Chrislan Treasure, the General Coordinator of Diaspora for Development of Cameroon and the Managing partner ”Elite Management” mentioned that one of the aims of the event was to make Cameroonians feel united again and to have a taste of home from abroad. He was satisfied with the outcome of the event.
