The atmosphere of Copenhagen city and other Scandinavian cities during Christmas is always fascinating .The illumination in every corner connotes the mood of the season.
There are Christmas carol in almost all the churches in the cities. The theatres are interesting place to visit during the Christmas because they have their own various charismas show. Christmas market in Tivoli, Christiania and in the north Copenhagen are very good places to make Christmas shopping.
Scandinavians celebrate Christmas on December 24th. Apart from most nightclubs, bars and Copenhagen Zoo, shops and restaurants are usually closed from 24th to 26th of December and also on 31th to 1st of January.
The mood of Christmas cannot be avoided as the illumination and decorations on the walking street (Strøget) of Copenhagen usually starts from the 17th of November. There are sound of Christmas music in and around every store, street and home in Copenhagen. The Danes prefer a white Christmas that is, when it snows on a Christmas day. This year Christmas is a white Christmas as snow covers every street in Copenhagen and other cities in Denmark. Without missing words, I would definitely recommend Copenhagen for anyone who is looking for a city to enjoy and to have a wonderful Christmas experience.
