Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, the Senior Economic Advisor at Open Society Foundations, former Vice President of the World Bank (Africa Region), former Minister of Education and Minister of Solid Minerals of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, visited Denmark in October 2014. Afroscandic’s Publisher, Mr. Samuel Alli got a privilege to interview her.
During the interview, Dr. Obiageli talked about the need for an equitable, inclusive, and broad-based economic growth in Africa in order to maximize all the opportunities that Africa has. She also argued that Africa needs to invest more on its citizens in order to benefit from the current African economic growth.
On the spectre of insecurity and terrorism in Africa, she said that the weakness of security governance and institutions is providing a fertile ground for the growth of terrorist activities in Nigeria. She also mentioned, among other things that “…Boko Haram is a major problem in Nigeria.”
