PUBLISHER / CEO
SAMUEL O. ALLI
Samuel is the architect and founder of Afroscandic media and the publisher of the print and online magazines of the organisation. He had his first degree in Chemistry from the premier Lagos State University in Nigeria before proceeding to the prestigious Chalmers University of Technology, Goteborg, Sweden, where he bagged an MSc. degree in Environmental Engineering. Samuel has had a robust and stimulating career in the last eight years, having worked as a Health & Safety Specialist, Renewable Energy Engineer and an Entrepreneur. After graduation, Samuel worked for the Federal Express, Copenhagen, Denmark, as a Health & Safety Specialist, from 2007-2011. He developed appropriate action plans that engendered a safe and legal working environment in accordance with international best practices and Fedex’s corporate and divisional requirements. He also ensured that the local business area was in compliance with Health & Safety & Dangerous Goods regulations. However, because his passion had always been to use his professional training, education and experience to transform innovations into economic goods, in 2011, he resigned his appointment from the Federal Express and teamed up with some engineers to establish Leeway Global Environmental Consulting, a company that specialises in Environmental Consulting and Renewable Energy Development and Procurement.
Samuel is an ambitious entrepreneur and very passionate about acquiring new skills and developing his self-awareness. He has continued to acquire diverse skills in different aspects of management, information and communication technology (ICT), international business and development studies, branding, and innovation management. It was while he was acquiring these skills that he discovered the information gap that exists between Africa and Scandinavia due to linguistic and cultural differences. Samuel loves challenges; so in 2012, he founded Afroscandic with the view to Celebrating and Connecting Africa and Scandinavia and creating a platform where a cross-fertilisation of ideas between Africans and Scandinavians could be initiated. In just three years of its existence, Afroscandic, under Samuel’s visionary leadership, is in partnership with many African embassies, and associations in the Scandinavia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of some Scandinavian countries, Chambers of Commerce and with some African and Scandinavian organisations and has provided them with the media mileage to promote their diverse interests.
Samuel’s passion remains to build Afroscandic into a world-class media organisation serving principally the needs and interests of the Scandinavian and African markets. He also seeks to contribute to the economic renaissance of Africa by building successful businesses and creating diverse opportunities for Africans and Scandinavians. He has bilingual proficiency in both English and Danish and is happily married with children. Samuel can be reached by e-mail at: samuel@afroscandic.com or by phone on: +45 20 76 51 11.
